Not so long ago my guild on Gaia Online organised a drawing contest. Our task was to make a piece of art featuring characters given by several members of the guild. The main theme for it was steampunk. Hard as hell....
In this artwork we can see (yay for useful expressions picked up during speaking lessons) our characters waiting for a zeppelin that will take them to Cape Town. In the middle of the square Erik, a dedicated womeniser, is trying to impress two girls nearby, making tricks with his flamethrower. As we can see, he's rather successful. Two young ladies are giggling as they're enjoing the show. A delicate noble Abitryss is trying to cover the blush and smiling shyly, while youg adventurous traveller Sango doesn't want to hide her excitement. It wasn't his intention, but Erik's efforts cought attention of one more spectator, a crazy inventor Inek. He seems to be more interesting in the flame-making device, though. The whole scene is being observed by a mechanic Filip, who's relaxing during a lunch break and drinking his favourite yerba mate - a strange drink similar to tea, imported straight from across the Atlantic for all his savings... A teenage globetrotter Sasani is sitting next to him, shouting cheerfully and applauding. The atmosphere of laisure spread through the square, cunning an elegant lady Kiri, who's peeping from behind the wall, and wild-spirited Fuyuko, seeking for an adventure. In the distance, a professional musician Tarja can't wait to give a concert in Cape Town.
And I'm to sleepy now to write anything more D; There are three versions of this drawing, I believe this one is the best. Thanks to Witek, I was able to make it more brown than beige!
Characters copyrights: > Erik: Ufoloodeck, my boyfriend > Abitryss: me > Sango: herself > Inek: himself > Filip: himself > Sasani: > Kiri: herself > Fuyuko: > Tarja: well, I believe Tarja Turunen herself....
I decided to make a scene instead of a boring row of characters. I guess that was a good move, something is happening in the picture, it's more vivid. And it catches attention
That's probably why I won the contest I drew that piece for It's a pity I wasn't able to colour it, though. We were given to little time to do so. I've posted this drawing to a club where others pick artworks to colour, I hope somebody will colour it for me ;3 ('cause I'm useless at digital painting :<)
and yes, they're attention grabbers XD
